MEET THE WEDDING PARTY: With a Little Help from Our Friends (and Family)
Every love story needs a great supporting cast, and ours was no exception.
As we stood together on October 13, 2024, surrounded by music, laughter, and so many people we love, we were especially honored to be joined by four extraordinary people who walked beside us, literally and figuratively, on our big day.
These folks aren’t just our wedding party — they're an essential part of our lives and our story. That’s why we want to take a moment here to introduce them and say thank you (again!) for everything they brought to the celebration.
Erik Christman: Jerry’s Best Man
It’s not every day your uncle becomes one of the most important people in your life, but that’s exactly what happened with Erik. Since the passing of his dad (Jerry’s brother) in 2005, Jerry and Erik have grown closer and closer. Jerry is godfather to Erik’s kids, Jackson and Kaitlyn, and their bond is something truly special. Erik has long said Jerry is one of his favorite people… and the feeling is very much mutual. We were so proud to have him by our side.
Evan Barbis: Nick’s Best Man
Evan is a captain of unlimited tonnage — yes, that’s a real thing! — piloting a nearly 1,000-foot container ship from the East Coast of the U.S. all the way to the Middle East and India. His connection to Nick began through Evan’s godfather, the late Dr. Sam Harkiss, who was also one of Nick’s dearest friends. After Sam’s passing, Nick lovingly stepped in as a guiding presence in Evan’s life, continuing the bond between their families. Having Evan as Nick’s best man was a beautiful full-circle moment.
Holli Christman: Jerry’s Escort
If you’ve ever met Holli (above with Jerry), you know her warmth, humor, and huge heart. She still remembers the moment she met Jerry — and she never let him go. He sang at her and Erik’s wedding three decades ago, and she made it perfectly clear: when Jerry got married, she would definitely be the one walking him down the aisle. And boy, did she show up with love and sparkle (and maybe just a bit more excitement than Jerry himself).
Cheri Beckerle: Nick’s Escort
Cheri (above with Nick) is the fierce and fabulous owner of an aerospace company in Los Angeles and mom to two amazing sons. Nick became her neighbor just after 9/11, and since then, he’s been like the brother she never had — a steady, loving presence in her family’s life. Last fall, when she saw Nick and Jerry together in Laguna Beach, she knew something truly special was happening. Her joy and support on our wedding day meant the world to us.
To Erik, Evan, Holli, and Cheri… we thank you for your unwavering support, for being part of our journey, and for bringing so much love (and style) to our wedding day.
